What happens if you dont change your cv joints.?

I have a bad cv joint on my car, if i were to not fix it, aside from snapping and making alot of noise what other consequences would i have ?|||the cv joint is what connects the transmission to your tires, therefore spinning them and also turning them (when you steer), if they break, you can%26#039;t turn and your engine%26#039;s power won%26#039;t be transferred to the wheel|||It will soon snap leaving you with no drive - not nice when overtaking in the fast lane on a motoway etc!

Replace it asap or sooner.|||i was driving on the highway when one broke the car changed lanes all by itself|||The bearings will come apart when you reach the total failure point and the axle will no longer deliver power to the wheel. You will be on the side of the road. Other than that, nothing.|||That would be the major consequence.

After it breaks, if you were to apply the gas (not knowing), you will also damage the differential.

Good Luck...|||lock up with you and throw you off the road.|||Not replacing a failing constant velocity joint could have catastrophic consequences. That little bugger could bust up into a thousand little chunks at 70 miles per hour, and you could have total loss of control (we%26#039;re talking about STEERING here), which would put you at a major disadvantage compared with everything whizzing past you as you spin violently off the road.

Other than that, not much.|||they just give out on you, i had it happen last year. had to walk for 2 miles with my two year old in my hands.
