Will I need any specailty tools to change a cv joint in a 96 2.5 L Dodge Stratus?

yes you will need a ball joint separator to help get it out with then you,ll need a pair of clip pliers to help get the joint apart with, other that that a good set of normal metric sockets and wrenches will do the job,the axle just pulls strait out of the transmission, getting it apart is different though.but you will need good sockets and the help of an impact wrench isn%26#039;t to bad to have around either, and good jack stands to set the car on while your working on it,good luck.|||You may want to check the price of a rebuilt half shaft, less work involved replacing the rebuilt unit since you aren%26#039;t taking the CV joint apart which is a real pain in the butt. I replaced the half shaft on my %26#039;90 Dynasty for about $40-45 plus the core.

Definitely use jack stands when under your car!!!!
