i have changed both cv joints on my peugeot 206 but the car wont drive. seems as though the gear box cant turn the drive shafts. it accasionally catches on but only for a second. i am able to select gears so i dont think the clutch has gone. can anybody help

Ill just bet you didn't overcome the snap ring on the inner CV joints when you *drove then back in. Possibly the new CV joints weren't bored and splined deep enough so they would seat far enough in.
Tear one apart and measure and compare it with one of the old ones you removed. You'll see exactly how deep the origional joint went as the oil seal will have left a distinct mark on the outside of the old - inner joint shaft.

Either the clutch is bad, the gearbox is bad, or they didn't properly install the shafts.
I agree with country, if it drove prior to changing the axle shafts, then they are either incorrect or not in all the way. Best bet is to get it to a reputable repair facility and have a specialist have a look and give you an estimate on repairing it properly.
