What is this Knocking in my 2002 mazda 626?

I have a 2002 mazda 626 and when i put it in reverse it makes a clattering sound, also when i take off at a fast speed is makes a different almost popping sound. i just changed the cv joints yesterday so i know it may not be that. what could it be?

If this sound STARTED after you did the CV joints and did not do it before that, then it is the CV joints. You screwed it somewhere there. Makes sense. Undo it. You may have to replace them again-you may have put them in backward or something like that.

When in doubt get THEM TO DO IT.

You should check your CV joints again.
What is most likely happening is that you are using the wrong type of gas. If you use the wrong type it causes the gas to explode prematurely before the pistons can compress it. Look at your owners manual and see what type of gas you should be using.
could it be you didnt do the job right was it making the sound before you did the job
